The old Newtonion/Copernican Heliocentric model of our solar system is an unproven theory. In fact it is a false one.
Since our solar system travels through space, the planets do NOT revolve around the Sun in a circular fashion.
They are "dragged" behind the Sun in a spiral: vortex motion. In fact, after 365 days the Earth does NOT return to the starting point of its orbit.
For me, the heliocentric model symbolizes the circle: going round and round till you drop dead. The helical model symbolizes life, growth, progress - you never return to your starting point. This is a philosophical matter as much as it is a scientific one.
We are NOT in a big marry-go-round. We are on a journey.
This has GREAT consequences for the physics involved, because rotational motion and vortex motion are two completely different things:

Fractal Universe

The Big Bang theory is a failure. It has failed because the wrong guesses were made by Einstein and Friedman. Their equations assumed that the universe was formed from dust. So much for the supposed 'rigour of mathematics'.
Therefore research for the following hypothesis, was begun using pictures, not maths, but the attempt to explain the wide-spread occurrence of spirals in space produced unexpected results. The identification of similarities between all sizes of bodies from super-galactic to atomic brought with it, like it or no, a clear connection to Schroedinger's quantum mathematics!
Only passing reference to the mathematical aspects are relevant in a pop science website such as this. Those interested should refer to one of the many books on the subject of Schroedinger's atomic physics. Max Born's "Atomic Physics" published by Blackie and Son takes some beating but it is hard to find now.
Part I of this website is a direct conversion of a slideshow that was presented to Manchester Astronomical Society in September 2002. Parts II and III are extensions which go into more detail. All parts should be read through in numerical order.
